Neutrino signal dependence on gamma-ray burst emission mechanism

چکیده

Long duration gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are among the least understood astrophysical transients powering high-energy universe. To date, various mechanisms have been proposed to explain observed electromagnetic GRB emission. In this work, we show that, although different jet models may be equally successful in fitting spectral energy distributions, neutrino production strongly depends on adopted emission and dissipation model. purpose, compute for a benchmark high-luminosity internal shock model, including dissipative photosphere as well three components, model invoking internal-collision-induced magnetic reconnection turbulence (ICMART), case of with gradual dissipation, dominant proton synchrotron radiation. We find that expected fluence can vary up orders magnitude amplitude peak at energies ranging from $10^4$ $10^8$ GeV. For our input parameters, none explored is excluded by targeted searches carried out IceCube ANTARES Collaborations. However, work highlights potential neutrinos pinpointing underlying mechanism importance relying unbiased stacking searches.

UV/Optical Emission Accompanying Gamma-ray Burst

We discuss the possible simultaneously UV/optical emission accompanying Gammaray bursts (GRBs). We show that as long as the intrinsic spectrum of GRB can extend to ∼10 GeV or higher, there is a large amount of relativistic e pairs generated due to the annihilation of the soft γ−rays with the very energetic photons, which dominates over the electrons/positrons associated with the fireball, no ma...

Line emission from gamma-ray burst environments

The time and angle dependent line and continuum emission from a dense torus around a cosmological gamma-ray burst source is simulated, taking into account photoionization, collisional ionization, recombination, and electron heating and cooling due to various processes. The importance of the hydrodynamical interaction between the torus and the expanding blast wave is stressed. Due to the rapid d...

Polarized Emission from Gamma-Ray Burst Jets

I review how polarization signals have been discussed in the research field of Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs). I mainly discuss two subjects in which polarimetry enables us to study the nature of relativistic jets. (1) Jet breaks: Gamma-ray bursts are produced in ultra-relativistic jets. Due to the relativistic beaming effect, the emission can be modeled in a spherical model at early times. However, a...

Prompt Neutrino Emission from Gamma-Ray Bursts

Recent observations show that some or possibly all long-duration gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) arise from the core collapse of massive stars. In this case, the GRB environments are believed to be preburst stellar winds. We here study prompt neutrino emission from reverse shocks as a result of the interaction of relativistic fireballs with their surrounding wind matter. We find that for reasonable par...

On the multiwavelength emission from Gamma Ray Burst afterglows

Aims. Drawing an analogy with Active Galactic Nuclei, we investigate the one-zone SSC model of Gamma Ray Bursts afterglows in the presence of electron injection and cooling both by synchrotron and SSC losses. Methods. We solve the spatially averaged kinetic equations which describe the simultaneous evolution of particles and photons, obtaining the multi-wavelength spectrum as a function of time...
